Decentralized Alternative Energy Desk
MANDATE
The Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE) Desk aims to promote the deployment and use of DRE in unserved and underserved areas of Lagos State to increase energy access and provide affordable, clean, and reliable energy solutions to achieve Nigeria’s sustainable energy goals, as well as drive the target vision of 1 GW of Solar generation in Lagos State by 2030.
- Increase access to information by aggregating data and mapping energy demand and needs.
- Map and connect private sector stakeholders, developers, financiers, and the wider ecosystem.
- Strengthen the capacity and knowledge within the Ministry.
- Support enabling policies for DRE private sector investments - ultimately to develop a portfolio of DRE projects and to deliver scalable DRE solutions.
- Create a one-stop-shop for DRE investment and deployment in Lagos State
More from the Decentralized Alternative Energy Desk
Plans and implements state policies on Energy and Mineral Resources to ensure availability of reliable energy for all residents in Lagos State as well as making Lagos State an Energy investment destination using available mineral resources as catalyst.
