To contribute to the growth of Lagos State economy through the development of a geologic knowledge base, by providing high quality and timely Earth science data products, and consulting services.

1. Carry out prospecting activity and collecting stratigraphic and structural data.

2. Analyze, assess, interpret, and report on all geological surveys undertaken in the state.

3. Provide advisory on geoscience and its applications to the government and general public.

4. Advise companies seeking licenses or concessions for exploration or any related activity.
